I hit the ground running in the Fall of 2012. I am currently a sophomore at The University of Oklahoma with a heart for others and a passion for public relations. My typical week includes giving campus tours, spending countless hours in Beaird Lounge studying and raising money for a philanthropic organization on campus called Sooners Helping Sooners.
After becoming a tour guide at OU, my allegiance for the Sooners grew. I am full of countless facts and information on every aspect of OU. My heart for others is shown more than ever by being there for prospective students.
Sooners Helping Sooners is a student-led organization that gives immediate financial aid to OU students who need help. I am the PR Director for SHS. I have been given the opportunity to combine school and passion, what could be better!

Introduction Alex Thomas
My name is Alex Thomas and I am a Junior transfer student from Oklahoma State University. Ironically, I was born and raised in Sooner nation right here in the town of Norman, OK (I'm a cowboy deep down). After I graduated from Norman North high school, I high-tailed it to Stillwater where I attended OSU for 2-years and then transferred back to my hometown. I currently attend OU and am part of the Gaylord College of Journalism. My degree changed multiple times while I was at OSU, starting with pre-med then to early childhood education and eventually ended up in the college of Journalism. I eventually chose to stick with public relations, with an emphasis on sports and is currently the degree I am working on. I eventually want to move away from Oklahoma, but we will see where my jobs take me after I graduate. I enjoy sports more than anything and hope that I can eventually put this passion of mine into my work someday!
Who is Rachel?
I could tell you I am a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma majoring in Public Relations and Marketing, but now I've already told you. That's the boring stuff, and usually it's the first thing I tell people upon meeting them. I am going to tell you being a business professional sounds cool and all, and my plans after college are to enter the professional world for some time. However, my passion lies with gaining knowledge the professional life cannot offer me. I am studying abroad in Arezzo, Italy this summer, and that is where I hope my adventure starts. How cool is it to see things and meet people you never imagined you would? If there is one thing you should know about me it is that I love to experience as much culture as possible. My happiness stems from simple adventure.

"The Start of Her Life"
By Chantel White
My name is Chantel White. I do not like my middle
name so I tell people that I do not have one. I was born in Lawton,
Oklahoma. I know that now, but when I was growing up I thought I was born in a
cooler place like Germany until my family crushed my dream and told me I was
born in Lawton. My childhood was interesting I suppose but I would rather not
talk about too much of it until high school. I went to Eisenhower High
School and like most young people I was cool in my own mind. I did
not actually become "popular," according to media standards, until my
junior year. I was in two clubs, I was starting my third year of track and
field, I got my braces off, I discovered high heels, and I was in media broadcasting
which was a difficult class to get in to. Life was getting good!
Traveling the World, and a Little Public Relations In Between
I originally came to OU to study international relations. I grew up fascinated by cultures and different ways of life. After taking human rights classes though, I became thoroughly depressed when I realized the rest of the world did not really understand or care what was going on around them.
I turned to public relations as a way to merge my interests with spreading the message. Now I'm at OU, trying to create some semblance of a degree and dealing with all the joys and trials that go along with being an undergraduate. Suffice it to say life is interesting at the very least. Here's hoping it can only gets better from here.

First Blog
HI. My name is Rachael Montgomery. I'm a sophomore public relations major at OU. I'm currently sitting in Dr. C's class writing this 150 word blog as apart of an in-class assignment.
I'm only 19 years old, so really I haven't accomplished much. I've won a couple piano competitions--so cool, I know--and I've been to South Korea and Germany. I like to write opinion columns, which is beneficial considering I'm the assistant opinion editor at the Oklahoma Daily.
I like to go on runs for exercise; however, when it comes to the weights and crunches part, there's probably nothing I hate doing more.
If you see me on campus or in my house or car, I'm probably listening to music. I probably will sound like such a typical teenager in this next sentence, but I don't really mind it: I love music. And if I absolutely had to choose a favorite artist, I suppose it would have to be the group Young the Giant
Well, here's hoping I've met the 150 word count. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. You know where to reach me ( Dr. C's class, 1:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays)
